Adding SEO To Your Site

googlerThere are many things that make a design stand out on the Internet. One of those things would be the creation of text and content that is SEO. SEO stands for search engine optimization and this process allows people to find you based on your page ranking. This is the way that you make money and your client will make money as well. One of the things about search engine optimization is the use of keywords. These keywords are based on the product or service that the client is trying to sell.

One of the reasons why SEO fits into a web design is fairly obvious. The content that is put on the site is specifically written so that people can find the site by the keywords. When you design a site, especially content, you have to know all about SEO in order to design a site with those qualifications which means basically all sites fall under this particular rule. The more the design falls into the SEO category, the more people that will visit the particular design that you are creating. By the use of tools such as AdWords or Overture, this can also simplify the process.

Incorporate SEO in Design

Your design will incorporate all elements of basic design as well as being compliant to the SEO rules for all search engines. Sometimes design does include the creation of copy for a site. A rule of thumb when you are designing a SEO compliant design is to use the recommended keyword rate that is called for and no more. Here is something that potentially can get you into trouble. Use the recommended keyword amount such as 1-2 percent in the content. Any more and you could get blacklisted by the engine in question.

This will definitely leave a client with a bad taste in the mouth. If you have a question about the proper use and percentage of keywords, then your best bet would be to take a look at the guidelines presented by W3C. There have been a few people already that have gotten into trouble with this particular set of problems. With that being said, design is also a top consideration along with the content. By combining both, you will have a design that you can be proud of and one happy client. Knowing how to do SEO is a plus for any web designer.

Increase Flow with SEO

This will not only increase your worth with your company, it will also increase your worth with potential clients. So there is a double reason for knowing about SEO, how it works and how it is applied to design. The two work well together as many designers have found out. With the changing fabric of the Internet, SEO is changing too. In the very near future, those rules will be changing to organic. So you have to keep up with the changes in SEO. This might sound like a pain in the burrito, but look at it this way. The more you know, the more valuable you are.
